Privacy

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. What you type — your commissions, your expenses, your filing status — is never sent anywhere unless you choose to give us your email address.

If you give us your email

We store your address along with the figures you entered, so the follow-up email can show your actual quarterly numbers instead of generic ones. We use it to send you the quarterly breakdown and the deduction checklist, and nothing else. Two emails, then nothing unless you reply. Unsubscribe any time using the link in the footer of either one. We do not sell or share the list.

Analytics

We use Plausible, which is privacy-friendly and cookie-free — there is no tracking cookie on this site, which is why you have not been asked to accept one. It records that a visit happened and roughly what was done: whether the calculator was used, which of the three jobs was selected, which state, and whether an email was submitted.

Income figures are never sent to analytics. They are grouped into wide bands — under $50k, $50k–$100k, over $100k — before anything leaves your browser. There is no way to work out what you earn from what we collect.

What we don’t do

• No accounts, no passwords, no login.
• No advertising trackers or third-party pixels.
• No selling or sharing of your email address.
• No storing of your income figures against your identity.

Getting your data removed

Unsubscribe from either email and you are removed from the list. If you would rather your record were deleted outright, reply to either email and ask — it will be done.
